The Avon Youth Services Bureau is part of a statewide network of municipally operated bureaus, established by Connecticut state statute, dedicated to enhancing youth development, enriching families and promoting healthy communities.

Professional youth & family counselors are available by appointment to provide short-term counseling & referrals for youth and families. Further services provided:

- Parent Education
- Youth Advocacy
- Positive Youth Development
- Teen Advisory Board
- Teen Activities
- Community Service

Youth Services Bureau (YSB) and YSB Advisory Board:
The Avon Youth Services Bureau Advisory Board advises and makes recommendations on overall policy and program direction for the Youth Services Bureau. The Board consists of at least 7 members with the following representatives: 1) A member under 21 years of age; 2) A representative of the school system; 3) A representative of the police department, and a representative of a private youth service agency.
