REVALUATION UPDATE
The Assessor’s Office is in the process of completing the new property assessments for all taxable real estate in Town. During the second week in November, new property assessment notices will be mailed. Property owners should expect a 15% to 20% increase from their 2003 assessments.
Any property owner who wishes to discuss their new assessment and property value can do so by making an appointment with CLT, the consultant hired by the Town to perform the Revaluation. The time and phone number for appeals will appear on each assessment notice. WE REMIND YOU TO PLEASE NOT TRY TO CALCULATE YOUR 2009 PROPERTY TAXES. The current mill rate will be lowered to reflect the increase in assessment and Grand List. This new mill rate will be determined by the Board of Finance sometime in May 2009.
